My baby is 1:(
My baby Ezekiel James turned 1 on Deceber 17, 2009. We had a HUGE party planned with at least 20 guests who RSVP'd. We were so excited and had even bought two cakes to feed everyone! But guess what? It got SNOWED OUT! NO ONE COULD COME! POOR ZEKE! POOR US! * that is a LOT of cake to eat*. Our neighbor and her 3 children did come and they played and ate cake and did presents. It turned out to be a quite little party. Maybe next year it won't snow out right?

So exciting!
My cousin Shanna is having Little John today! I am so excited for her and her husband for the many blessings a child, especially little boys:), bring to a famiy. What joy they must be experiencing! It brings me back to when I was in labor with Gabe. It was a very bittersweet moment for me as my husband wasn't there when he was born. In fact, Aaron wasn't home until Gabe as about 5 months. I am so happy for Shan and John that John gets to be there. I am also so greatful that Aaron was able to be there when Zeke was born. My heart is filled with such joy for them as they embark on the best adventure that life throws...children! At the sametime my heart is full of tears of joy remembering the births of my two precious babies and thinking that my little guy will be 1 in 1 1/2 months..:(

It is hard to believe that my baby Zeke will be 1 soon:( I hate to think about it. Makes me want to have another one already! I have started working out and going to Weight Watchers with a good friend that had a baby about the same time I had Zeke. We both want to loose some weight before we have more kids. I still have baby weight to loose from Gabe and he is 5!!! Shows you how fast time flies. I know it isn't an excuse for not loosing the weight though:)
Soon Gabe and Zeke will not be the only great grandchildren either. My beautiful cousin Shanna is due anyday with her first baby Little John:) I am so excited for her and her husband John. What a blessing little boys are! She is going to make a great mommy:) It is sad to think that we are all grownup, married, and having kids! I remember her and I just being little girls. Oh well:(
Gabe is very excited for Halloween. He is going to be a spider and Zeke is going to be Eeyore!
Will post pics after Halloween!!

Too long!!
I can't believe it has been so long since I wrote a blog!!! Guess we have been pretty busy at our house! Gabe starts kindergarten on Wed!!!! He and I are both excited!!! Aaron will be getting out of the Navy in Oct. and will be getting a "real" job!!! And I am looking into going back to work a few nights a week, just to help get my student loans and the cars paid off. We are trying to get our "debit" paid off ASAP so we can start to invest and enjoy all that extra money!!!
The boys are growing quickly!! Before I know it Zeke will be 1 !!! I can't believe it!!! And my BABY is going to school....some days I am excited about it...other days I get sad...
Other than that, we have been enjoying having Aaron's brother and wife close to us. They now live in VA and we love spending time with them.
Our 7 year anniversary is coming up, August 31!!! And I will be 27 Sep 8th!!

Pics
Disney pics and other varous pics have been added to my facebook account. If you want to add me it is under Erin Surrell Morgan.
So, it has been 38 days since my last MRSA outbreak...and what do you think I woke up with this morning? YES! You guessed it...OUTBREAK NUMBER 4 DEVELOPING!!!! I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!!!!
It seems that there is exactly 40 days between each outbreak. On or about day 38 I start to develop the underlying symptoms....pinkness of the soon to be infected area, swelling, streaking of red lines up my foot into my ankle, and boy does it start to hurt...by day 40 I want to chop my foot off. So, as soon as I noticed that it was getting more painful, around 2:30pm, I called the dr. to find out what to do because it was the start of the weekend. He was in surgery, which he is every Friday. I left a message with my med tech and she said she would call me back around 5pm. At 2:45 she called me back to tell me that the dr. wants me to keep and eye on it and as soon as it changes to head to the ER and call him on my way.
When will this ever go away?!
My sis in law Stacy stayed with us for the week. That is my hubbies brothers wife. She is so nice and we really enjoy having her around. Her and Alan are going to take Gabe next weekend and he is so excited. He loves his Uncle Alan and Aunt Stacy so much! He really enjoyed having her as well as Aaron and I did.

A whole month gone by
A whole month went by since I last made a entry in our family blog. We went to Disney and had a great time! I will be putting pics up over the weekend probably. After we went to Disney, Gabe and I headed up to Vermont for a week to see my family and pick up Zeke. We had a wonderful time up there with lots of outdoor play! Then my dad came back down to MD with me for the weekend. We went to Bingo a few times and just relaxed. A few days after he left, my MRSA started to flare up again. This time left foot pinkie toe!! So, off I went to Dr. Leone and he started me on antibotic and the next day it was worse. Good new = no PICC line...yet...bad news= they had to numb my foot and cut open a hole for the infection to drain. Not as painful as it sounds.....On Wed morning I went and saw the infectious disease dr. He ordered a TON of blood work and thinks it may have something to do with my immune system...great...So with the news of my foot, my mother came down to MD for a week. She rode with a friend who has family in Annapolis. It was nice to have my mom here. We played outside a lot and Gabe got a nice tan. It was also a big help to get caught up on the house after being gone for a month!!!
On July 14th, I go in to have the start of my dnetal work done. I am more afraid of the dentist than of another MRSA outbreak! Crazy I know!
Zeke had his 6 month well baby check up and he is a big boy!!! He weighs 19lbs and it 29 inches long!!! He is in 95th% for height and 75th% for weight..he should weigh more for that length...but by all means is he not starving and skinny!!!
Gabriel is enhoying having a backyard this summer!!! We got him a small pool and a few sprinkler toys...boy we got a waterpark going on!!! I hate to see the water bill....oh well he is having fun!!!

Zeke
Yesterday I drove to NY with Kim and Gabe to bring Zeke to my mom. She is going to watch him while we take Gabe to Disneyworld for his 5th birthday! We are leaving here sunday night for FL and we are SO excited!!! Gabe doesn't know yet. We are not going to tell him where we are going either. Anyway, Kim and I decided we wanted to stop by a Sonics on the way home from dropping off Zeke. So I went to the Sonics website and printed directions. They were completly messed up and it took us over 45 minutes to find the Sonics because of the wrong directions. Needless to say, the chili and shakes are still good:) When will MD get a Sonics? CRAP! I am going to open one!!!
I miss my Zeke:(

What a crap day
With so much going on with me trying to get all th elaundry done before we go to FL, packing for Zeke to go to my mom's while we are gone, keeping the house clean....all that kid of stuff...you would think I was busy enough...but no!!! The washer leaked all over the laundry room. So now I am stuck here still needing to pack, clean the dishes, feed and bath my kids, but with water drentching my utility carpet in my laundry room out into our living room area. I must say that ShamWOWS really do work. It picked up most of the water. But my knuckles could only take so much pounding on carpet that only covers cement. I was glad to get a call from a friend with a wet vac and hopfully that will clean up the rest. Zeke is screaming, Gabe is crying cuz he is hungry an dI am soaked in water and smell bad... hahahaha

Hungry...
We are having the Spanish Missionaries over for dinner tonight. I am going to make shake and bake chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and baked beans. For dessert we are having dark choclate cake with raspberry preserves and cream cheese frosting. I hoping that it will go well. When we lived in Mississippi, we used to have them over 2-3 times per week. It is somthing we really enjoyed. Now that we are in the house and have room, it will be nice to have that opprotunity again. It is such a nice feeling to have them in our home and help them out!

I love my two best friends
I am so glad that I got to spend the most amazing morning with my two best friends, Kim and Sarah. They are more than anyone could ever ask for. I am so thankful for the friendship with them that I have been searching my whole life for. Never, in my 26 years, have I EVER felt something so right as I do with these two beautiful women. Well, other than marrying Aaron of course;) These two ladies are the most amazing women I have ever met. The Lord really placed them with me when He knew I needed them the most. I don't know what I would ever do without them, or how I ever lived without them. I am learning so much from them. Thank you so much:)
I will have pics of today as soon as Sarah gets the time to post them:)
Kim, I want to thank you so much for what you did with Sarah and I today. It was so special. I am so thankful to Heavenly Father that I have you and that you trusted me enough to do what you did. You are such a wonderful spirit, teacher, mother, wife, example, and best friend anyone could ever ask for. I look up to you in so many ways.
Sarah, I am so glad that we got to share such an amazing experience together today. I look forward to the next time we are able to do it. Thank you for comming with us, and sharing my special day with me. It was the most amazing feeling to be there with you, Kim, and my grandmother:) You, just like Kim, are a wonderful spirit, teacher, wife, mommy helper:), example, and best friend anyone could ever ask for.
I love you both dearly.

What a great day!!!
Considering how hot it has been, today is so nice!! The boys and I went for about a 4 mile walk!!! How refreshing that was!!! Both are taking naps now, which never happens around here. All the fresh air must have made for a sleepy head:) Zeke is LOVING his baby food!!! He has been eating applesauce stage 1 with rice for 3 days so tonight we are going to try green beans!!! YAY!
I did SO much cleaning today! I put this french vanilla powder on the carpet and it smells so good! Because I could open the windows, I did a tough cleaning on the kitchen and bathroom with bleach!! I am feeling so refreshed and good about that day! All the laundry is done, dishes are done!! Everything is done!!!!

Doing better
Zeke is doing better and is no longer sick. My dad had to go back to Vermont this morning. Which stinks. It doesn't seem he was here long enough. I wish he could of stayed longer. Yesterday was a busy day of Flea Markets and yard sales with Kim and the kids. We found some amazing deals though! Last night I started not feeling well. Not sure if it was the 90 degree weather yesterday or what. I started to feel better once I cooled off. But, this morning I woke up with a POUNDING headache. So, I stayed home from church with Zeke and Aaron took Gabe and went. He has to give a talk today. I was supposed to to, but well I am home. I took some Tylenol with Codine and am hoping it will help.

The awsomeness of a 4 month old with the flu!!!
A 4 month old with the flu, I have decided, is NOT in anyway FUN! Especially when you have to stay up until 1am to give yourself IV therapy due to MRSA infection. I am so freakin' exhausted. Zeke was up every 15 minutes with a VERY high fever, vomiting, and the runs. We went to the ER this morning and his temp was 102.8!!! When I called the after hours nurse for John's Hopkins to get permission to take him, she thought maybe he was having an allergic reaction to the Hep. B vaccine he had Friday morning. When we got the ER the Dr. assured me, and my father, that it was just the flu. He has been sleeping most of the day and seems to have reduced the fever a bit. The Dr. said that this could go on for up to a week!!! I don't know if I can handle this! I am so exhausted from having to stay up for myself, then to have to stay up all night to take care of Zeke doesn't help. I love my kids so much and that is what is making me push through this day and this night. I know that I can make it:) Poor Zeke:(

Happy Easter!!!
It is days like today, when we are far away from our family, that I am so glad I have such great friends! We had a great breakfast over at Kim and Spencer's house. Gabriel got an Easter basket, and got to color eggs and do an egg hunt with Sammie. He also let us know that Sammie was his girlfriend:) I have to admit, they are TOO cute together. Two little peas in a pod.
I am doing good with my PICC line and things are going great. I am getting better. The medicine makes me very sleepy though. And, I am having a very hard time not being able to pick up the baby.
My dad will be here Thursday night, and I am so excited!!! I love it when my dad comes down. We always do such fun things.
On Wed. Gabe registers for Kindergarten!!! I can't believe it! It is here already!!!
Friday, I have a Dr. appointment and Zeke gets some more shots that morning as well. So what a day that will be. Hopfully I will find out that my foot is better and I can get this PICC line out.
Again, thank you to all our close friends that we are so grateful to have that treat us like family:)

What a week!
So, after 4 days in the hospial with a MRSA infection I am finally home! But, not without pain that is for sure. I went into the hospital Monday night after a MRI with contrast Monday am showed the infection in my foot was getting worse. When I got there they gave me an IV and took loads of blood and cultures of my foot. It turned up that it was infact MRSA again. I was then brought up to my room of isolation. HAHA. I was given Vancomycin every 12 hours and Clindamycin IV every 8 hours. On the 3rd day they tried to do a PICC Line at the bedside 4 times with no luck. I ended up with two bullet size holes in each upper arm. The next morning, they brought me down to an area where a Cardiologist put the PICC Line in under constiant x-ray and it was in within 2 minutes. The picture to the side is what a PICC line looks like. That isn't mine though:) But it looks exactly the same! For those of you who don't know what a PICC line is it is a A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC or PIC line) is a form of intravenous access that can be used for a prolonged period of time (e.g. for long chemotherapy regimens, extended antibiotic therapy, or total parenteral nutrition. A PICC is inserted in a peripheral vein, such as the cephalic vein, basilic vein, or brachial vein and then advanced through increasingly larger veins, toward the heart until the tip rests in the distal superior vena cava or cavoatrial junction.
So basically it is an IV with a catheter that leads through the vein that is large that dumbs out right before my heart. I will be on it for a few weeks. This means that I get to give myself IV's at home twice daily. Along with a dressing change of gauze and betadine onmy foot to keep it dry, and to also dry up the MRSA that is colonizing on my foot. Talk about a pain in the butt! The PICC isn't as bad as I thought it would be, and very easy to maintain. Although, this is only my second day doing it:) I think I am doing a great job. Aaron is being a HUGEEEE help and I love him so much. He pretty much has to do everything around here for fear that something could pull the line out. Also, my friends are being so AMAZING!!I love you all!!!!
My dad will be comming down for vacation on Thursday for two weeks!! I can't wait to see him!! And I know he will be a super big help as well.

Not again!!!
Most of you know that at the start of the year, about 4 weeks after Zeke was born, I came down with a MRSA *staph* infection in my right foot. It took about a month and a half for it to clear up and for the hole that was in my toe to close up. Everything was going great and I was only having to see my foot Dr. once every 2 months, instead of every day or every other day! I was so excited! Then, yesterday morning I woke up and my left foot hurt the way my right one did at first. You see, when my right foot first started to hurt I thought maybe I had stubbed my toe in the night and broke it. A few days went by and my foot was so swollen I couldn't walk and I had red streaking up my leg. That is when my toe formed a HUGE blister like thing which turned into a hole that went almost all the way through my toe. Anyway, so yesterday morning I woke up and my left foot felt the way my right one did at the start of all that mess. I went in the bathroom, turned on the light, and you wouldn't believe it.....the SAME TOE ON THE LEFT FOOT was starting to swell and get red. I didn't fool around this time! I went right to the Dr. He pu tmy right back on Bactim, Cipro, and Clinadmycin. Also a topical antibotic that I apply to the area twice a day. He also sent me to the ER for a round of blood work...8 tubes later...lol you can imagine. So, he said he will look at my bloodwork when it comes back, and if he doesn't like the numbers, he is going to admit me for 3 days for intese IV antibotics. So as the title of this blog is not again, I wish this wasn't happening again. I have now taken 4 pills each of the oral antibotic, and it seems to be getting worse not better. :( Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. If I could only describe how painful this is...

Dinner
I made a roast for dinner tonight. I can't wait to eat it!!! It has made the house smell so freakin' yummy! I think I may bring some to Kim after we eat. Maybe make some tatoes and mac & cheese to go with it? And aspargus!!!
What to do...
Aaron got home around 4 instead of 2 like he thought. But he is a teaching a class for work so that is a good thing. Laundry, guestroom, dishes....all done. We are now sitting downstairs watching Underdog...it is a cute movie I guess. But watching a movie with Gabe is hard because he has to be the center of attention all the time it feels like. So, we have to keep telling him to be quiet.
If anyone is looking to do anything tonight let me know. I am bored.

Disneyworld
We are all set and ready to take Gabe to Disneyworld end of May!!! And I think I found someone to keep Zeke so that we can just take Gabe alone...the 3 of us. I want him to be able to enjoy his alone time with Aaron and I. I have one person said they would do it , and then my mom offered to fly down and do it. So we will see.

About time...
We finally got the $500.00 we had been waiting for since October....long story....but thank God it came today!
What a day!
So today started off bright and early! I had to go for a check-up with the foot Dr. and had to bring both boys. Not a big deal at all. Gabe was really good. I packed him some homemade trail mix, and he had a few books and brought those. He did however, spill trailmix all over the Dr. office floor. He picked all of it up, and proceded to eat it anyway. Whatever right? We then went to the library, got a ton more books and even books to help me plan for Disney. We went to Kim's and went to the library in Anapolis and picked up a book they had on hold for us. She showed me downtown, which I had never seen before!!! It is really nice! I can't wait to explore there! She made us a great lunch, then we came home and picked up the living room before Aaron gets here. Now I just have some dishes to do and laundry to start. Zeke is pissy so I better go!

yummmm-o
I just found and made a really good chocolate cake....it was/is so moist and fluffy....yummo
What to dooooo.....
Today we woke up and Gabe had hardly any voice. I gave him a sore throat lollipop and that seemed to help. So now, he can talk again, just sounds really scratchy still. Zeke seemed to sleep really well last night, maybe because we didn't go to bed till midnight? I am not sure.
We didn't go to church today because of Gabe. But we went and got diapers and some other things we forgot yesterday morning. Found Gabe a new movie and now he is up resting in his room watching it.
I think maybe Aaron and I will play Risk in a bit, but I am not sure. I am starving but don't know what I want. Any ideas? I am thinking about making a cake but I am not sure if I have everything to do it. Although I could make it from scratch....vanilla sounds good....I am just going on and on with nothing important, so I guess I will go play some online games until Aaron decides if he wants to play Risk.

Settlers....
So, I had a wonderful time with Spencer, Kim, Katherine, and Joe playing settlers tonight. Aaron and Gabe went to his friend Alex's house, otherwise he would of gone to. I think I am addicted....oh yeah and...I WON!!!!
I can't wait till Sarah gets back and we can have a HUGE game...:)
Oh by the way, Sarah, I hope you get into your black dress:) I can't wait to see pics. I am sure you are going to look just great.
Anyway, after a semi late night, I am relaxing with some online games waiting for Aaron and Gabe to get home.
Kim, thanks for dinner, cake, and making me pretty:) I love you !!!!

Just ugh today
Well it all started yesterday when Aaron went to get the license plates for our new car from the dealership. He ran into Bill, who is the guy that we reffered to Matt about renting the townhouse when we moved out. He told Aaron that his realtor contacted Matt's realtor about renting the home. Matt's realtor told Bill's realtor that the house wouldn't be ready for several months because WE had DESTROYED the home. Bull crap! I am SOOOO mad !!! I am hoping that the JAG letter gets to them soon because I am not sleeping over all this crap. I am letting it stress me out TO much! It is effecting the way I am treating my family, and that isn't ok. I don't owe them crap! And we DID NOT DESTROY that house! Anyone who knows us....anyone who helped us move out, knows that we are not like that.
So, then we went to IKEA this morning to return a crib we had bought for Zeke. We were returning it because someone gave us a crib that is in wonderful condition. We drive 45 minutes to IKEA only to find out they won't take it without a recipt. I didn't want the money back, I just wanted store credit!!! They said it is a new policy that just went into effect a few weeks ago! UGH! It is BRAND NEW in a NEVER opened IKEA box!!! It is IKEA product! Why can't I just get store credit? So, now we have 2 cribs and 1 baby...
On another note, we got Gabea new big boy carseat for my car. And it is so much easier to get him in and out of the car now! I am so glad! We also got him some Disney preschool games to help with the home schooling. Brought some books back to the library, and now we are just hanging out. I am trying to calm down from the events of the last 24 hours. But nothing seems to be helping. I just keep thinking that this isn't going to go our way and we are going to have to come up with all kinds of money we don't have. Aaron and everyone else says that isn't going to happen and I just need to calm down. But it is hard to do when all you do is worry.

The start of this blog..
So to start out I guess I should update everyone on what has been going on since we last wrote family letter.....months ago! Ezekiel James Morgan was born dec 17, 2008 at 7:42 pm. He weighed 10lbs and was 21 3/4 inches long. He had a lot of hair, but not as much as Gabe had. We moved out of our SMALLLLL townhouse into a beautiful home that is just the right size. Gabe has a WONDERFUL backyard to play in, and I can't wait till summer comes and we can have BBQ's with friends.
Aaron is still active duty Navy stationed at Ft. Meade in Maryland. He will be active duty until October of this year when he gets out! Still deciding what to do from there. There are a few options we are weighing out right now.
Me, Erin, is enjoying being a stay at home mom. Sometimes I miss work, but only for a passing moment:) I have made some great friends that I spend a lot of my time with . Which is helping me a lot. It was hard a few months back when I didn't really have any friends that lived close to me. I managed and thought I was ok being alone, but now that I have people, I realize I wasn't ok with it. I just made myself be ok with it.
Gabriel was going to preschool until the other day when Aaron and I took him out. There was some things going on that we didn't agree with and decided he was better off at home with me. So, yesterday was our first day of "home school" preschool. We had fun. I will get to that in minute:) He enjoys playing outside, watching Tv*of course*, video games, and reading with me and Aaron.
Ezekiel is just a blessing to have around. What a good baby he is, just like Gabe was. He hardly ever cries and is basically sleeping through the night, waking up maybe twice, but usually once. He is starting to smile ALL THE TIME! And he is TYRING to laugh but he just can't get the noise out. Although, he did giggle in his sleep the other night. He is such a BIG boy though. He has already changed so much, not only in obvious growth, but his features are changing as well.
So, with all that said I can get into the "blogging" part.
Yesterday was our first day of "home school" preschool. And we did ALOT. We went on a nature walk and were gone for about 2 hours. We had so much fun and found so many interesting things. Lots of birds and leaves. Then after Aaron got home Gabe took his FIRST trip to the library! He got his own library card and he was SOOOO excited. I was SOOOO excited to! We had so much fun. He got a few books, and a few DVDS. We are going to go back this morning before we meet the girls for a walk around the mall.
That brings me to another point, Gabe , Zeke, and I are going to be going walkign everyday outside when it is nice, and at the mall when it is not so nice. I am hoping it will do 2 things, 1. help me loose Zeke weight and 2. help Gabe to be able to walk for periods of time for 2 reasons walking to school in Sep. when he starts Kindergarten, and walking when we take him to Disneyworld for his birthday!
Yes, we are taking Gabe to Disney for his birthday. We will be leaving here and driving down, May 26th and comming back June 1. We are NOT telling him we are going. We are just going to wake him up, put him in the car and go. We are so excited about this!
So now that everyone is caught up, and I blogged for the morning, I am going to go get everyone ready for the day!
