What a great day!!!

Considering how hot it has been, today is so nice!! The boys and I went for about a 4 mile walk!!! How refreshing that was!!! Both are taking naps now, which never happens around here. All the fresh air must have made for a sleepy head:) Zeke is LOVING his baby food!!! He has been eating applesauce stage 1 with rice for 3 days so tonight we are going to try green beans!!! YAY!
I did SO much cleaning today! I put this french vanilla powder on the carpet and it smells so good! Because I could open the windows, I did a tough cleaning on the kitchen and bathroom with bleach!! I am feeling so refreshed and good about that day! All the laundry is done, dishes are done!! Everything is done!!!!

Doing better

Zeke is doing better and is no longer sick. My dad had to go back to Vermont this morning. Which stinks. It doesn't seem he was here long enough. I wish he could of stayed longer. Yesterday was a busy day of Flea Markets and yard sales with Kim and the kids. We found some amazing deals though! Last night I started not feeling well. Not sure if it was the 90 degree weather yesterday or what. I started to feel better once I cooled off. But, this morning I woke up with a POUNDING headache. So, I stayed home from church with Zeke and Aaron took Gabe and went. He has to give a talk today. I was supposed to to, but well I am home. I took some Tylenol with Codine and am hoping it will help.

The awsomeness of a 4 month old with the flu!!!

A 4 month old with the flu, I have decided, is NOT in anyway FUN! Especially when you have to stay up until 1am to give yourself IV therapy due to MRSA infection. I am so freakin' exhausted. Zeke was up every 15 minutes with a VERY high fever, vomiting, and the runs. We went to the ER this morning and his temp was 102.8!!! When I called the after hours nurse for John's Hopkins to get permission to take him, she thought maybe he was having an allergic reaction to the Hep. B vaccine he had Friday morning. When we got the ER the Dr. assured me, and my father, that it was just the flu. He has been sleeping most of the day and seems to have reduced the fever a bit. The Dr. said that this could go on for up to a week!!! I don't know if I can handle this! I am so exhausted from having to stay up for myself, then to have to stay up all night to take care of Zeke doesn't help. I love my kids so much and that is what is making me push through this day and this night. I know that I can make it:) Poor Zeke:(

Today we went and got our fmaily membership to Port Discovery! I am so glad we finally were able to go and get it!!! I was such an awsome deal and what an awsome price!!! We got to enjoy our day their with some close family friends and their three beautiful children. We had a blast!!! They have a new exhibit since we went last time, it is all about water. Gabe had such a great time!!! And Zeke seemed to enjoy himself a bit too:) I am looking forward to many more trips!!!

I also found out tonight that I will be a Cub Scout Den Mother!!! I am excited and nervous all at the sametime, but I know it will be a blast!!!

Eating rice

Zeke at rice cereal from a spoon for the first time yesterday! And he really liked it! I knew when he started wanting a bottle every 2 hours still at 4 months, that he just wasn't getting enough to eat. Boy was he a happy boy!!!!

Happy Easter!!!

It is days like today, when we are far away from our family, that I am so glad I have such great friends! We had a great breakfast over at Kim and Spencer's house. Gabriel got an Easter basket, and got to color eggs and do an egg hunt with Sammie. He also let us know that Sammie was his girlfriend:) I have to admit, they are TOO cute together. Two little peas in a pod.

I am doing good with my PICC line and things are going great. I am getting better. The medicine makes me very sleepy though. And, I am having a very hard time not being able to pick up the baby.

My dad will be here Thursday night, and I am so excited!!! I love it when my dad comes down. We always do such fun things.

On Wed. Gabe registers for Kindergarten!!! I can't believe it! It is here already!!!

Friday, I have a Dr. appointment and Zeke gets some more shots that morning as well. So what a day that will be. Hopfully I will find out that my foot is better and I can get this PICC line out.

Again, thank you to all our close friends that we are so grateful to have that treat us like family:)

What a week!

So, after 4 days in the hospial with a MRSA infection I am finally home! But, not without pain that is for sure. I went into the hospital Monday night after a MRI with contrast Monday am showed the infection in my foot was getting worse. When I got there they gave me an IV and took loads of blood and cultures of my foot. It turned up that it was infact MRSA again. I was then brought up to my room of isolation. HAHA. I was given Vancomycin every 12 hours and Clindamycin IV every 8 hours. On the 3rd day they tried to do a PICC Line at the bedside 4 times with no luck. I ended up with two bullet size holes in each upper arm. The next morning, they brought me down to an area where a Cardiologist put the PICC Line in under constiant x-ray and it was in within 2 minutes. The picture to the side is what a PICC line looks like. That isn't mine though:) But it looks exactly the same! For those of you who don't know what a PICC line is it is a A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC or PIC line) is a form of intravenous access that can be used for a prolonged period of time (e.g. for long chemotherapy regimens, extended antibiotic therapy, or total parenteral nutrition. A PICC is inserted in a peripheral vein, such as the cephalic vein, basilic vein, or brachial vein and then advanced through increasingly larger veins, toward the heart until the tip rests in the distal superior vena cava or cavoatrial junction.

So basically it is an IV with a catheter that leads through the vein that is large that dumbs out right before my heart. I will be on it for a few weeks. This means that I get to give myself IV's at home twice daily. Along with a dressing change of gauze and betadine onmy foot to keep it dry, and to also dry up the MRSA that is colonizing on my foot. Talk about a pain in the butt! The PICC isn't as bad as I thought it would be, and very easy to maintain. Although, this is only my second day doing it:) I think I am doing a great job. Aaron is being a HUGEEEE help and I love him so much. He pretty much has to do everything around here for fear that something could pull the line out. Also, my friends are being so AMAZING!!I love you all!!!!

My dad will be comming down for vacation on Thursday for two weeks!! I can't wait to see him!! And I know he will be a super big help as well.

Not again!!!

Most of you know that at the start of the year, about 4 weeks after Zeke was born, I came down with a MRSA *staph* infection in my right foot. It took about a month and a half for it to clear up and for the hole that was in my toe to close up. Everything was going great and I was only having to see my foot Dr. once every 2 months, instead of every day or every other day! I was so excited! Then, yesterday morning I woke up and my left foot hurt the way my right one did at first. You see, when my right foot first started to hurt I thought maybe I had stubbed my toe in the night and broke it. A few days went by and my foot was so swollen I couldn't walk and I had red streaking up my leg. That is when my toe formed a HUGE blister like thing which turned into a hole that went almost all the way through my toe. Anyway, so yesterday morning I woke up and my left foot felt the way my right one did at the start of all that mess. I went in the bathroom, turned on the light, and you wouldn't believe it.....the SAME TOE ON THE LEFT FOOT was starting to swell and get red. I didn't fool around this time! I went right to the Dr. He pu tmy right back on Bactim, Cipro, and Clinadmycin. Also a topical antibotic that I apply to the area twice a day. He also sent me to the ER for a round of blood work...8 tubes later...lol you can imagine. So, he said he will look at my bloodwork when it comes back, and if he doesn't like the numbers, he is going to admit me for 3 days for intese IV antibotics. So as the title of this blog is not again, I wish this wasn't happening again. I have now taken 4 pills each of the oral antibotic, and it seems to be getting worse not better. :( Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. If I could only describe how painful this is...
