I can't believe that Gabe is almost done with his first year of school! He will be 6 May 31!!! Where have the last six years gone? I look at him sometimes and wonder " What happened to my sweet small baby?". Aaron and I are going to be putting Gabe in a small private christian school next year, and I honestly can't wait. The classes have less than 10 kids in each class and there is a lot of one on one attention that I think he could really use. The program they use for school is that which is used for a lot of christian based homeschools, and I have heard AMAZING things about it. I am so excited to watch him excel in first grade! He loves math and science...just like his daddy that is for sure:)Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-85070392346655809462010-04-24T22:34:00.003-04:002010-04-24T22:39:50.792-04:00Liquid diet and a 5 year old...So I FINALLY got Gabe into the pediatric gastro dr at Mt. WAshingtion Childrens Hospital here in Baltimore. We have one of the best dr.s in the state of Maryland. I was so happy to NOT have to dealw ith military crap anymore! WE are fianlly getting some answers!

For those of you who don't know, and you probably don't care to know either but I am going to tell you anyway, for the last three years Gabe has very severe bowel issues. His PCM *primary care manager* with the military REFUSED to give us a referal to have him checked out. Now that Aaron is no longer military, we can go where we want when we want and I LOVE IT.

So anyway, this weekend Gabe is on a liquid diet, 34mg of mirilax *twocaps* in 16fl oz every 8 hours and an adult FLEET enima once a day for 3 days. *yes he was THIS backedup*. On Tuesday we go back in to take x-rays to find out what is going on in his little tum tum. He has gone from 45 lbs in aug to 34lbs on Tuesday. He went from 50th% in growth chart ot 15%...this is NOT good.

The baby is cutting molars.

That is about it.

Will have more news in a few days:)Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-3797686286258418622010-04-08T22:06:00.002-04:002010-04-08T22:10:44.314-04:00Been tooo longIt has been to long since I posted here. But have been rather busy and honeslty not online a whole lot. I have been working ont tagging, hanging, and pricing over 600 items for a children's consignment sale at Ft. Meade the end of April. Along with that and the two kids, cleaning the house, and having a husband, taking the time to blog has taken the backseat.

It has been a rough winter for our family with the "sickness" as we have come to call it. We can't seem to get out of here!!! Once someone is feeling better, someone else turns up sick! It is driving me nuts! I think Gabe missed WAY WAY WAY too much school. But with a fever you can't send them. I would rather let him sleep then wake him up just to turn around and have to go get him.

Spring is here though. And people are starting to feel better, except now we have allergies and allergies with Gabe equals asthma attacks. I am not looking forward to that.

The boys are getting big. Zeke is walking. Gabe is getting really good at video games.Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-5447705485331687382010-01-31T22:23:00.002-05:002010-01-31T22:30:30.392-05:00A new year; a new lifeWith the comming of the New Year, I am trying hard to do a lot of "things" to change my life and my families life. Of course the saem old resolutions, lose weight, spend less time doing this and more time doing that. But, along with those "normal" resolutions, we have made some other as a family, and I can't wait to get started!

1. Pay off all our debt. We staretd off great by paying off one car ebfore the New Year came. Now we are left with one student loan for 5,000 and one car for 8,000. !!!! That is it!! no CREDIT CARDS, no un paid medical bills...nothing just a car and 1 loan!

2. Spending more time together as a family. Doing anything as long as we are together.

3. Saving money to BUY a house.. We have been thinking over our options and we need to see where Aaron's job leads before we settle on one descion we have made in our brain storm. It just all depends I guess. I will update as things play out.

4. Maybe...MAYBE trying for baby number 3...probably closer to the end of the year. Not sure I want two babies in diapers...I have seen people do it...and I don't think it is for me LOL...plus we want to wait until we are OUT of debt. Which won't take long...so more like towards the end of the year...hoping for a girl this time...if not we decided we would stop at 4 and adopt.

5. LIVE LIFE!!!!!Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-45362451691691668532009-12-26T18:32:00.000-05:002009-12-26T18:34:42.339-05:00My baby is 1:(My baby Ezekiel James turned 1 on Deceber 17, 2009. We had a HUGE party planned with at least 20 guests who RSVP'd. We were so excited and had even bought two cakes to feed everyone! But guess what? It got SNOWED OUT! NO ONE COULD COME! POOR ZEKE! POOR US! * that is a LOT of cake to eat*. Our neighbor and her 3 children did come and they played and ate cake and did presents. It turned out to be a quite little party. Maybe next year it won't snow out right?Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-15301316629508293052009-11-02T10:46:00.002-05:002009-11-02T10:49:59.326-05:00So exciting! My cousin Shanna is having Little John today! I am so excited for her and her husband for the many blessings a child, especially little boys:), bring to a famiy. What joy they must be experiencing! It brings me back to when I was in labor with Gabe. It was a very bittersweet moment for me as my husband wasn't there when he was born. In fact, Aaron wasn't home until Gabe as about 5 months. I am so happy for Shan and John that John gets to be there. I am also so greatful that Aaron was able to be there when Zeke was born. My heart is filled with such joy for them as they embark on the best adventure that life throws...children! At the sametime my heart is full of tears of joy remembering the births of my two precious babies and thinking that my little guy will be 1 in 1 1/2 months..:(Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-43027704669069244062009-10-29T11:05:00.002-04:002009-10-29T11:08:42.541-04:00It is hard to believe that my baby Zeke will be 1 soon:( I hate to think about it. Makes me want to have another one already! I have started working out and going to Weight Watchers with a good friend that had a baby about the same time I had Zeke. We both want to loose some weight before we have more kids. I still have baby weight to loose from Gabe and he is 5!!! Shows you how fast time flies. I know it isn't an excuse for not loosing the weight though:)

Soon Gabe and Zeke will not be the only great grandchildren either. My beautiful cousin Shanna is due anyday with her first baby Little John:) I am so excited for her and her husband John. What a blessing little boys are! She is going to make a great mommy:) It is sad to think that we are all grownup, married, and having kids! I remember her and I just being little girls. Oh well:(

Gabe is very excited for Halloween. He is going to be a spider and Zeke is going to be Eeyore!

Will post pics after Halloween!!Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-69156705919556783082009-09-22T09:05:00.001-04:002009-09-22T09:07:19.168-04:00Much needed updateSorry it has been so long! If you want to add me it is under Erin Surrell Morgan.

So, it has been 38 days since my last MRSA outbreak...and what do you think I woke up with this morning? YES! You guessed it...OUTBREAK NUMBER 4 DEVELOPING!!!! I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!!!!

It seems that there is exactly 40 days between each outbreak. On or about day 38 I start to develop the underlying symptoms....pinkness of the soon to be infected area, swelling, streaking of red lines up my foot into my ankle, and boy does it start to hurt...by day 40 I want to chop my foot off. So, as soon as I noticed that it was getting more painful, around 2:30pm, I called the dr. to find out what to do because it was the start of the weekend. He was in surgery, which he is every Friday. I left a message with my med tech and she said she would call me back around 5pm. At 2:45 she called me back to tell me that the dr. wants me to keep and eye on it and as soon as it changes to head to the ER and call him on my way.

When will this ever go away?!

My sis in law Stacy stayed with us for the week. That is my hubbies brothers wife. She is so nice and we really enjoy having her around. Her and Alan are going to take Gabe next weekend and he is so excited. He loves his Uncle Alan and Aunt Stacy so much! He really enjoyed having her as well as Aaron and I did.Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-9677550179832639672009-07-03T13:06:00.002-04:002009-07-03T13:13:39.100-04:00A whole month gone byA whole month went by since I last made a entry in our family blog. We went to Disney and had a great time! I will be putting pics up over the weekend probably. After we went to Disney, Gabe and I headed up to Vermont for a week to see my family and pick up Zeke. We had a wonderful time up there with lots of outdoor play! Then my dad came back down to MD with me for the weekend. We went to Bingo a few times and just relaxed. A few days after he left, my MRSA started to flare up again. This time left foot pinkie toe!! So, off I went to Dr. Leone and he started me on antibotic and the next day it was worse. Good new = no PICC line...yet...bad news= they had to numb my foot and cut open a hole for the infection to drain. Not as painful as it sounds.....On Wed morning I went and saw the infectious disease dr. He ordered a TON of blood work and thinks it may have something to do with my immune system...great...So with the news of my foot, my mother came down to MD for a week. She rode with a friend who has family in Annapolis. It was nice to have my mom here. We played outside a lot and Gabe got a nice tan. It was also a big help to get caught up on the house after being gone for a month!!!

On July 14th, I go in to have the start of my dnetal work done. I am more afraid of the dentist than of another MRSA outbreak! Crazy I know!

Zeke had his 6 month well baby check up and he is a big boy!!! He weighs 19lbs and it 29 inches long!!! She is going to watch him while we take Gabe to Disneyworld for his 5th birthday! We are leaving here sunday night for FL and we are SO excited!!! Gabe doesn't know yet. We are not going to tell him where we are going either. Anyway, Kim and I decided we wanted to stop by a Sonics on the way home from dropping off Zeke. So I went to the Sonics website and printed directions. They were completly messed up and it took us over 45 minutes to find the Sonics because of the wrong directions. Needless to say, the chili and shakes are still good:) When will MD get a Sonics? CRAP! I am going to open one!!!

I miss my Zeke:(

Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-24470178019966365232009-05-18T13:11:00.001-04:002009-05-18T13:14:42.982-04:00What a crap dayWith so much going on with me trying to get all th elaundry done before we go to FL, packing for Zeke to go to my mom's while we are gone, keeping the house clean....all that kid of stuff...you would think I was busy enough...but no!!! The washer leaked all over the laundry room. So now I am stuck here still needing to pack, clean the dishes, feed and bath my kids, but with water drentching my utility carpet in my laundry room out into our living room area. I must say that ShamWOWS really do work. It picked up most of the water. But my knuckles could only take so much pounding on carpet that only covers cement. I was glad to get a call from a friend with a wet vac and hopfully that will clean up the rest. Zeke is screaming, Gabe is crying cuz he is hungry an dI am soaked in water and smell bad... hahahahaMorgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-22212226742473708602009-05-08T15:12:00.003-04:002009-05-08T15:17:18.837-04:00Just some random pics These pictures were taken by my dear friend Sarah. I am going to make shake and bake chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and baked beans. For dessert we are having dark choclate cake with raspberry preserves and cream cheese frosting. I hoping that it will go well. When we lived in Mississippi, we used to have them over 2-3 times per week. It is somthing we really enjoyed. Now that we are in the house and have room, it will be nice to have that opprotunity again. It is such a nice feeling to have them in our home and help them out!Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-45194143587560145612009-05-02T20:41:00.002-04:002009-05-02T20:47:22.547-04:00I love my two best friendsI am so glad that I got to spend the most amazing morning with my two best friends, Kim and Sarah. They are more than anyone could ever ask for. I am so thankful for the friendship with them that I have been searching my whole life for. Never, in my 26 years, have I EVER felt something so right as I do with these two beautiful women. Well, other than marrying Aaron of course;) These two ladies are the most amazing women I have ever met. The Lord really placed them with me when He knew I needed them the most. I don't know what I would ever do without them, or how I ever lived without them. I am learning so much from them. Thank you so much:)

I will have pics of today as soon as Sarah gets the time to post them:)

Kim, I want to thank you so much for what you did with Sarah and I today. It was so special. I am so thankful to Heavenly Father that I have you and that you trusted me enough to do what you did. You are such a wonderful spirit, teacher, mother, wife, example, and best friend anyone could ever ask for. I look up to you in so many ways.

Sarah, I am so glad that we got to share such an amazing experience together today. I look forward to the next time we are able to do it. Thank you for comming with us, and sharing my special day with me. It was the most amazing feeling to be there with you, Kim, and my grandmother:) You, just like Kim, are a wonderful spirit, teacher, wife, mommy helper:), example, and best friend anyone could ever ask for.

I love you both dearly.Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-1273696413200957822009-04-29T13:50:00.002-04:002009-04-29T13:53:13.138-04:00What a great day!!!Considering how hot it has been, today is so nice!! The boys and I went for about a 4 mile walk!!! How refreshing that was!!! Both are taking naps now, which never happens around here. All the fresh air must have made for a sleepy head:) Zeke is LOVING his baby food!!! He has been eating applesauce stage 1 with rice for 3 days so tonight we are going to try green beans!!! YAY!
I did SO much cleaning today! I put this french vanilla powder on the carpet and it smells so good! Because I could open the windows, I did a tough cleaning on the kitchen and bathroom with bleach!! I am feeling so refreshed and good about that day! All the laundry is done, dishes are done!! Everything is done!!!!Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-83606053972083202592009-04-26T13:08:00.002-04:002009-04-26T13:11:24.604-04:00Doing betterZeke is doing better and is no longer sick. My dad had to go back to Vermont this morning. Which stinks. It doesn't seem he was here long enough. I wish he could of stayed longer. Yesterday was a busy day of Flea Markets and yard sales with Kim and the kids. We found some amazing deals though! Last night I started not feeling well. Not sure if it was the 90 degree weather yesterday or what. I started to feel better once I cooled off. But, this morning I woke up with a POUNDING headache. So, I stayed home from church with Zeke and Aaron took Gabe and went. He has to give a talk today. I was supposed to to, but well I am home. I took some Tylenol with Codine and am hoping it will help.Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-17762948917494379892009-04-19T19:33:00.002-04:002009-04-19T19:37:27.833-04:00The awsomeness of a 4 month old with the flu!!!A 4 month old with the flu, I have decided, is NOT in anyway FUN! Especially when you have to stay up until 1am to give yourself IV therapy due to MRSA infection. I am so freakin' exhausted. Zeke was up every 15 minutes with a VERY high fever, vomiting, and the runs. We went to the ER this morning and his temp was 102.8!!! When I called the after hours nurse for John's Hopkins to get permission to take him, she thought maybe he was having an allergic reaction to the Hep. B vaccine he had Friday morning. When we got the ER the Dr. assured me, and my father, that it was just the flu. He has been sleeping most of the day and seems to have reduced the fever a bit. The Dr. said that this could go on for up to a week!!! I don't know if I can handle this! I am so exhausted from having to stay up for myself, then to have to stay up all night to take care of Zeke doesn't help. I love my kids so much and that is what is making me push through this day and this night. I know that I can make it:) Poor Zeke:(Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-15610407694184629032009-04-15T22:30:00.000-04:002009-04-15T22:32:46.395-04:00Port DiscoveryToday we went and got our fmaily membership to Port Discovery! We got to enjoy our day their with some close family friends and their three beautiful children. We had a blast!!! They have a new exhibit since we went last time, it is all about water. Gabe had such a great time!!! And Zeke seemed to enjoy himself a bit too:) I am looking forward to many more trips!!!

I also found out tonight that I will be a Cub Scout Den Mother!!! We had a great breakfast over at Kim and Spencer's house. Gabriel got an Easter basket, and got to color eggs and do an egg hunt with Sammie. He also let us know that Sammie was his girlfriend:) I have to admit, they are TOO cute together. Two little peas in a pod.

I am doing good with my PICC line and things are going great. I am getting better. The medicine makes me very sleepy though. And, I am having a very hard time not being able to pick up the baby.

My dad will be here Thursday night, and I am so excited!!! I love it when my dad comes down. We always do such fun things.

On Wed. Gabe registers for Kindergarten!!! I can't believe it! It is here already!!!

Friday, I have a Dr. appointment and Zeke gets some more shots that morning as well. So what a day that will be. Hopfully I will find out that my foot is better and I can get this PICC line out.

Again, thank you to all our close friends that we are so grateful to have that treat us like family:)Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748933529565505614.post-77693053121743979692009-04-11T13:23:00.002-04:002009-04-11T13:36:34.578-04:00What a week!

So, after 4 days in the hospial with a MRSA infection I am finally home! But, not without pain that is for sure. I went into the hospital Monday night after a MRI with contrast Monday am showed the infection in my foot was getting worse. When I got there they gave me an IV and took loads of blood and cultures of my foot. It turned up that it was infact MRSA again. I was then brought up to my room of isolation. HAHA. I was given Vancomycin every 12 hours and Clindamycin IV every 8 hours. On the 3rd day they tried to do a PICC Line at the bedside 4 times with no luck. I ended up with two bullet size holes in each upper arm. The next morning, they brought me down to an area where a Cardiologist put the PICC Line in under constiant x-ray and it was in within 2 minutes. The picture to the side is what a PICC line looks like. That isn't mine though:) But it looks exactly the same! For those of you who don't know what a PICC line is it is a A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC or PIC line) is a form of intravenous access that can be used for a prolonged period of time (e.g. for long chemotherapy regimens, extended antibiotic therapy, or total parenteral nutrition. A PICC is inserted in a peripheral vein, such as the cephalic vein, basilic vein, or brachial vein and then advanced through increasingly larger veins, toward the heart until the tip rests in the distal superior vena cava or cavoatrial junction.

So basically it is an IV with a catheter that leads through the vein that is large that dumbs out right before my heart. I will be on it for a few weeks. This means that I get to give myself IV's at home twice daily. Along with a dressing change of gauze and betadine onmy foot to keep it dry, and to also dry up the MRSA that is colonizing on my foot. Talk about a pain in the butt! The PICC isn't as bad as I thought it would be, and very easy to maintain. Although, this is only my second day doing it:) I think I am doing a great job. Aaron is being a HUGEEEE help and I love him so much. He pretty much has to do everything around here for fear that something could pull the line out. Also, my friends are being so AMAZING!!I love you all!!!!

My dad will be comming down for vacation on Thursday for two weeks!! I can't wait to see him!! And I know he will be a super big help as well.

Morgan Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12682283679605618885noreply@blogger.com2
